My husband and I have a small family centered cattery located near Birmingham, AL. Our family is dedicated to raising, improving, and bringing awareness to our favorite breed- the American Shorthair Cat. We are focused on keeping the breed pure, and making healthy, hearty, loving cats that meet the breed or exceed the breed standard for the American Shorthair Cat. Our main objective is to produce show quality cats that illuminate the time honored traits that American Shorthair Cats are treasured for. To reach this goal we work with other catteries throughout the World to enhance the quality of all our cats. As a result our cats are agile, loving, and superior hunters.

Our kittens are raised “under foot” to ensure that they receive all the love and affection to create the most well adjusted, outgoing, and friendly cats as possible. This means they are born in our bedroom and receive constant attention from all of us. Once they are big enough they have free run of the house. We do not cage our kittens.

The American Shorthair Cat is a medium sized, hearty cat, with a thick water resistant coat. They are easy to care for and adapt quickly to new settings. We prefer to raise our cats underfoot which makes them dog and child friendly. Here at Russeller's our family spends a great deal of time with our cats to ensure that they are in the best form possible. They are a part of our family: which we wish to share with others. -These guys will likely greet you at the door, fetch toys, and are easily trained if you train them. They make wonderful companions for all ages.

How to Purchase:

We are now taking deposits on our American Shorthair kittens. A deposit of $100.00 will reserve your kitten. We reserve kittens on a first come first serve base according to color and quality. When the kittens are old enough we will contact you in the order that we receive deposits for a personal visit to choose your kitten, or you may visit our website and choose from the photos of kittens that are available. We will update kitten photos periodically. We will ship kittens, if necessary, and send photos for selecting your kitten. Deposits will be held until you select your kitten and then deposited. If you decide not to select a kitten that is offered, your deposit will be returned minus credit card or Paypal - processing fees may apply. Pricing varies depending on the quality of the kitten, but starts at 600.00. We take most major credit cards, PayPal, and personal checks.
